These were the words I read in an email that I received today: Although we cannot offer you a place at this time, the selection committee found your application impressive, and you have been designated as an alternate.
I am a teacher and often attend seminars during the summer months. Today is the day that teachers are notified of their application status. I am an alternate for both of seminars that I applied for this year. I don't know why this upsets me so much, but it does. I was supposed to be in my third trimester during that time, so was not even going to apply. That obviously changed in February. I guess what is bothering me is that I am neither pregnant, nor have a seminar to attend to distract me from that fact.
